about us
Saginaw Area Watermedia Artists is a Michigan non-profit organization composed of artists from the Saginaw and mid-Michigan area. We're a mix of hobbyists and professionals.
We meet once a month for a general meeting for learning about watercolors and growing in our artistic endeavors, and for socializing and sharing information on fine arts in our community. Meetings may include demonstrations and/or presentations of work by artists outside of our group who work in various areas of watermedia.
SAWA holds two member shows each year hosted by the Andersen Enrichment Center and Saginaw Charter Township. We meet for "paint ins" and "en plein air" paint outs throughout the year giving us the opportunity to paint together.
our history
We were founded in 1999 by two artists who remain active today. Over the years SAWA has had a steady membership of between 35 and 65 area artists striving to learn and grow in watermedia.

donate to us
As part of our mission statement to help promote the fine art of watermedia, SAWA raises funds to sponsor activities that bring art opportunities and education to people of all ages in our community. If you would like to help us in this endeavor, please contact us to make a donation, or to let us know of an organization that is in need of funding for art education!
